Call for Entries - "Summertime Rolls"

Density is proud to present “Summertime Rolls,” our first online group exhibition. We hope that you are able to share with all of the wonderful photographers in New Orleans and all across the Gulf South. As this is our first exhibition, we’re looking for every opportunity to grow our audience and show the world the immense talent in our region.
To submit an entry, please read the prompt below and respond with your best image. A selection of images will be published in an online show on September 5th!
Summertime Rolls:
This time of year just feels like nostalgia. There are so many images, smells, feelings, and sounds from my past that come to mind - the song referenced in this month’s theme, for example, “Summertime Rolls” by Jane’s Addiction. In my personal experience, summer reminds me of sleeping in late - my body aching from playing baseball all day and getting too much sun. I smell sunscreen and cut grass - my tongue red from a cherry snowball. The lights at night carry an orb of halation around them while my eyes burn from chlorine.
Use this month to tell your summertime story using photography techniques that help generate the feeling of nostalgia. Document your travels, use creative ways to escape the heat - the content is up to you. Show us how you’re creating your summer memories.

Limit submissions to one image
Please name your file in the following format “firstname_lastname.jpg”
Email submissions as an attachment to densitypress@gmail.com with the subject line “Submission: Summertime Rolls”
By submitting photos, you are stipulating to us that you own copyright to these photographs. You are granting Density Press a non-exclusive license to use the photograph in its submitted form, subject to re-sizing to fit format, for publication on the Density Press Substack for as long as this forum exists. You also grant Density Press permission to use these photographs on social media accounts connected to Density Press.
The purpose of our community is to create opportunities for lens-based artists throughout the Gulf South by amplifying their work and sharing their stories.
We intend to support this mission through regular programming including a quarterly publication, regular community events and exhibitions, in-depth explorations into purpose and process, along with photo challenges and calls for artists.
