Ashley Gates is a photographer born in Jackson, Mississippi, where she currently lives and works. Her photographs have been exhibited in venues nationally, including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the New Orleans Photo Alliance Gallery, Aperture Foundation, Redux Contemporary Art Center, Griffin Museum of Photography, Masur Museum of Art, New Orleans Jazz Museum, and the T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum.
Her book of found polaroids, We Didn't See Each Other After That, was exhibited at the Phoenix Art Museum and selected as one of Photo-eye's Best Photo books of 2016. Her work has appeared in print and online in various publications including Lucky Peach, Curbed, Southern Glossary, Oxford American, Humble Arts Foundation, and The Boston Globe.
